2009 Royal Star Venture Review Admin Desember 01, 2021 2009 Royal Star Venture Review Anyone have experience with a Yamaha Royal Star Venture? I'm curious about this two-up tourer as a candidate for my next toruing rig. I had one for 3.5 years. I put 45,000 miles on it. It was the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. It was completely trouble free also. It was a bit much for around town riding so I down sized to a Vulcan 1500. If I were doing more riding I'd seriously consider another or perhaps the Tour Deluxe. comes with a 5 year unlimited mile warranty. As stated above bulletproof but big. Not high tech like the wing, bmw, vision I will second the comfortable comment. The Royal Star and Vulcan 1700 are the two most comfortable bikes I have ever been on, bar none. She is a big big girl but carries her weight reasonably low and it is manageable if you keep on your toes. The V4 is a wonderful engine and I never found it wanting for power. 4 carbs to deal with if you ever have to do a cleaning tho. Just don't let it sit and you'll do fine in that respect. If you find one for a test ride make sure you take notice of how hot your feet get and gear whine to see if you can live with it. Some do not even notice it, to others its a deal breaker. JerryH Proudly Powered By Internal Combustion Supporter It's a touring cruiser, so it is going to be comfortable. It is also capable of 2 up touring. A new one costs as much as a Goldwing, but I like it better. My 1500 Goldwing was constantly breaking down (because of all the worthless gadgets they put on it that have no place on a motorcycle) and 4th gear was about to go. It popped out a couple of times under load. I got rid of it quick. The Royal Star should not have these problems. I picked up a 2000 model in April of this year. It is comfortable, has plenty of power and handles about as well as you can expect for a big heavy luxo-tourer. Your passenger will like it. My wife says it's the most comfortable bike she's ever ridden on and that group includes E-Glides and Goldwings. Definitely looks comfy... but coming off of a Honda Valkyrie (which has the flat-6 Goldwing motor), I'm used to butter smooth engines. Just how smooth is that V-4?? I'd imagine it's pretty slick. Not as smooth as Honda's flat 6 cylinder. The motor has a definite pulse to it, noticeable but not particularly objectionable to me. I also ride a Buell Ulysses and a Kawasaki KLR so I may not be the best judge... Yeah, you know you're on a V4 and not a Honda 6, for sure. It's like riding the original Battlestar Galactica down the road. Gargantuan and sofa king comfortable. Not something you'd want to use to dash out for a case of beer or another bag of charcoal. Serious highway barge, but really neat sort of deco architcture on the dash and fairly intuitive controls. A unique exhaust note (in a good way) with a set of pipes. There's a reason it's been around so long. I like the 'wing and think it's the best thing on the market, but the Venture is a good machine and comfy. Not butter smooth, but a good runner up that gets within striking distance in my head. I had a '96 Royal Star I bought used in '98. It was a good, solid, reliable performer I rode everywhere under all conditions, but what really impressed me was the quality of the fit and finish. I sold it in '03 and it still looked great, with no corrosion, etc. Good tough paint, including the clear on polished surfaces, a lot of stainless and a lot of cadmium plating. If I remember correctly this was a $14,000 Japanese bike in '96 and as far as I know they never shortchanged the quality in subsequent years. 2009 Royal Star Venture Review Source: https://advrider.com/f/threads/yamaha-royal-star-venture.894580/ Komentar :
